GST:Ready or Not??
Recently Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Idris Jala said the new taxation mechanism could guarantee additional revenue of RM20bil to RM27bil, at maturity. Even though a new tax is being introduced, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak had committed to reducing corporate as well as personal income taxes. This shows that the Government wants a balance in every move that it makes, whether economically or politically
"At maturity is when every Malaysian starts to contribute towards the GST. It must be implemented as soon as Malaysians are ready to accept the mechanism,” -Datuk seri Idris Jala
Gov already on discussions for target date and take at least one year from the time of announcement to the actual implementation date. By that education / awareness programmes are still on going to ensure awareness and understanding on the GST.
The big Q is are we ready for that???
To answer this please look down this logic point:-
1) % households with a monthly income of RM3,000 quite high based on the BR1M Successful applicants...
2) % of unemployment still high especially degree holder...please check out the number going/apply for Government exam/Assessment/interview especially N41 or something similar. The number year to year become higher but the chances for get any job like 10-20 % and they have to wait another 1 year to apply. I must say the exam and interview such as nonsense to much irrelevant thing. Private sector yes but the salary way lower than gov sector especially fresh graduate and they need 3-5 years experience for Appling executive level or higher?? so how about rural area?? how far the farmer can achieve for a month??
Government should work harder and harder to ensure all this thing become smallest problems... people didn't pay tax for "janji manis" or zink and BR1M or another twin tower or another 1 Borneo...they want better life and better opportunity.
The first step before implementing GST...not the awareness programmes to make people understand but to make sure people ready for it based on they economics especially rural area.... by reducing corporate as well as personal income taxes do it really give impact to individual or family with monthly income of RM2000?? or for a worst below RM800???
I must say Malaysia still not ready for it...but in future this is one that can be implement.. but just not now...lets we know how good you handle the national income before you ask for more...
**** SINGAPORE one of the richest country so don't mind them....
